Tulip Time Volksparade

The annual Volksparade features dozens of colorful bands, floats, and much, much more, including exhibition Dutch Dance groups “klomping” along the route in their authentic costumes and real wooden shoes! Prior to the start of the Volksparade, watch hundreds of Dutch-costumed townspeople, armed with brooms and pails, scrub the parade route clean. The parade lasts approximately one and a half hours.
For over 80 years, Holland residents have been keeping up with the tradition of “Dutch Cleanliness," starting with a white glove inspection of the streets, performed by the Mayor and City Council. The inspection takes place at the corner of 8th Street and Central Avenue at 10:30 am and lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Inspection: 10:30 am
Street Scrubbing: 1:15 pm
Volksparade: 2:00 pm
