"The Foreigner" Theatre Production

Thursday, February 18, 2010, 8:00 PM

Our winter farce, “The Foreigner,” is a comedy by Larry Shue that runs February 4-6, 11-14, and 18-20. The scene is a fishing lodge in rural Georgia often visited by Froggy LeSeuer, a British demolition expert. This time, Froggy has brought along a friend, a shy young man named Charlie, who is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers. So before he departs, Froggy tells all those assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. And that’s when the fun begins. Many revelations are made with the thought that Charlie doesn’t understand a word being said, which fuels the nonstop hilarity of the play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the “bad guys,” while the “good guys” emerge triumphant. Jamie Storm directs.
