Hope College Orchestra Concert

The concert will feature works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Dag Wiren, Antonio Vivaldi, John Corigliano and Felix Mendelssohn. The first piece on the program will be Mozart’s “Divertimento in D major.” Following, the strings will perform the “Serenade for String Orchestra, Op. 11,” by Wiren.

Continuing with the program, four senior violinists from the Symphonette will be performing “L’Estro Armonico; Concerto for Four Violins in b minor,” by Vivaldi. The featured performers will be Beth Barnadyn of BoyneCity, Tori (Baar) Zokoe of Holland, Kirsten Schroeder of Warren and Sarah Borzym of Elmhurst, Ill.

Following the Vivaldi, the Symhonette Strings will turn to the 20th century composition, “Voyage for String Orchestra,” by John Corigliano. To close the program, the Symphonette Strings will perform “Sinfonia No. 9 in c minor,” by Mendelssohn.
