"The Butler Did It"

“The Butler Did It,” a mystery farce by Tim Kelly, parodies every English mystery play ever written, but with a decidedly American flair. Miss Maple, a dowager with a reputation for “clever” weekend parties, invites a group of detective writers to eerie Ravenswood Manor where they are to impersonate their fictional characters. The hostess has arranged all sorts of amusing incidents: a mysterious voice on the radio, a menacing face at the window, a mad killer on the loose. Then a real murder takes place, and Miss Maple is outraged. She offers an immense reward to the “detective” who can bring the killer to justice. And what an assortment of zany would-be sleuths! Laughs collide with thrills, and the climax is a real seat-grabber as the true killer is unmasked!
“The Butler Did It” opens Thursday, April 15 at 8:00 pm and runs through Saturday, May 8. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays, April 15 – 17, April 22 – 24, and April 29 – 30 with a Sunday matinee on April 25 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors, and $10 for students. Discounts are available for groups of 12 or more. The box office opens April 8 and can be reached at 616.396.2021. Box office hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Thursdays and Fridays, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, and one hour before each show. Tickets are also available online at for a small online service fee.
Tickets for the Tulip Time performances, May 1 at 7:00 pm, May 2 at 2:00 pm, and May 4 – 8 at 7:00 pm, are $20 per person and can be purchased through Tulip Time at 616.396.4221 or www.tuliptime.com.
