Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors Live at the Park

The Park Theatre will feature a rare solo performance by Chris Barron of the Grammy-nominated band The Spin Doctors on Saturday, June 5 at 7:00 pm. Specialists gave Barron a 50-50 chance of ever talking normally again, let alone singing on a professional level, when he was stricken with vocal chord paralysis. After a regime of everything from acupuncture to prescription steroids and intensive vocal training, Barron is fully recovered and singing better than ever, winning audiences all over again as a solo artist with his sincerity and that vocal tone that has made his voice recognizable to millions all over the world.

Currently, Barron has a solo CD,“Pancho And The Kid,” awaiting release. It’s a collaboration with his long-time friend, Jeff Cohen of Pancho’s Lament. “Pancho And The Kid” is a song-oriented mixture of American musical forms that showcase the beauty, versatility, subtlety and raw emotional power of Barron’s voice. For his Park Theater performance, Barron will be performing solo, showcasing his new songs as well as a nice collection of the Spin Doctor hits. While part of the Spin Doctors, Barron wrote the songs “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” and “Two Princes,” both of which went to Billboard’s top five. In addition, the band sold like, fifty-two gazillion records, were on the cover of “Rolling Stone” magazine, and also opened for the Rolling Stones.

Barron’s performance at The Park Theatre is produced by Sprout Media Group. Opening acts include Lansing’s, Jen Sygit, and West Michigan up and comer Spencer Mulder.

Advance tickets are available for $9.00 in Holland at Globe Design & Vision (48 East 8th Street) and at Full Circle Records (212 College Avenue), both located in Downtown Holland or online at www.brownpaperticket.com. Tickets are also available at the door for $15.00.
