"Changing Identity" Traveling Exhibition

Thursday January 10 - Friday February 1, 2008

“Changing Identity” is the first major exhibition of contemporary Vietnamese women artists in the United States. It features approximately 50 works by 10 artists who challenge the stereotypes and traditional roles of women in Vietnamese society. Through the use of various media, subject matters and aesthetic sensibilities, the artists explore gender and cultural identity and offer a diversified view of Vietnam.

“Changing Identity” is toured by International Arts & Artists of Washington, D.C. It has been traveling to galleries and museums around the country since January 2007. It will continue at Hope through Feb. 1.

An opening reception will be held from 5-7pm, Friday, Jan. 11.
