Hope College Wind Ensemble Concert

Wind Ensemble Concert – Wednesday, April 25: Dimnent Memorial Chapel, 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The concert is titled “American Classics” and will include “The West Point Symphony,” by Morton Gould; “Country Band March,” by Charles Ives; “Elegy,” by Mark Camphouse; “The Thunderer,” by John Philip Sousa; and “Raider’s March,” by John Williams.
Director Gabe Southard, who joined the Hope faculty in 2007, completed his Doctorate of Musical Arts in conducting at Michigan State University. Prior to his residence at MSU, he served as wind symphony conductor and flute studio teacher at the University of Michigan-Flint, where he also taught orchestration, music appreciation and advanced conducting.
