Since Fidel Castro handed over the presidency of Cuba to his brother, Raúl in early 2008, signs of greater economic openness have led to much speculation. Will Raúl seek to reopen ties with the United States? What role will Cuba’s American exiles play in shaping a post-Castro Cuba? Tom Gjelten has reported extensively from Cuba in recent years, visiting the island more than a dozen times. He will share his insights. Presenter: Tom Gjelten, NPR host and author of “Bacardi and the Long Fight for Cuba: A Biography of a Cause”.
