Improv Workshop: Adults

Improvisation Workshop and Performance Coming to Holland Civic Theatre:

Christy Bonstell and Andy Carey of the world-famous iO Theater in Chicago (formerly Improv Olympic) are offering improvisation workshops on March 20th and 21st at Holland Civic Theatre with a performance on March 22 at 3:00 pm. Christy and Andy both teach and perform at the iO Theater in Chicago and also perform with critically acclaimed shows such as Comedy Sportz Chicago, Baby Wants Candy, The Beatbox, and The Improvised Shakespeare Company.

Andy Carey has taught, performed and toured with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and the iO Theater. He currently performs with the Improvised Shakespeare Company and Baby Wants Candy.
Christy Bonstell has taught with Second City Detroit, Improv Inferno, and the iO Theater. She currently performs with the iO Theater, Comedy Sportz Chicago, and Baby Wants Candy.

Don’t miss your chance to work with improvisers straight from the world’s most active hotbed of improvisational comedy. The workshops will include exercises for creating characters, building scenes, and improv games. All experience levels welcome. Come join us! What you will learn can be applied to more than improvisation. These skills and forms will help you become a more creative actor with active listening skills.

The Adult Workshop is Friday, March 20th, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The Student Workshop (Ages 10 to 18) is Saturday, March 21st from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Each Workshop is $12.00 per person for Holland Civic Theatre members and $15.00 for non-members.

You do not need to come to the workshops to enjoy the performance on Sunday, March 22 at 3:00 pm. Tickets: $8.00 for HCT members and $10.00 for non-members.
