Cover Contest
Your photo could be the star of the 2025 Holland Area Visitors Guide! This guide is the official promotional piece for the greater Holland area, with over 140,000 copies printed. It’s the go-to resource for all visitor-related inquiries and will be widely distributed at Michigan Welcome Centers, area hotels and bed & breakfasts, downtown Holland, local attractions, and select tourism offices throughout the state. Your photo could also travel far beyond Michigan, reaching visitors regionally throughout the Midwest and even making appearances at regional and national trade shows!
A Little Direction:
Our cover photo usually features a single tulip with a simple, eye-catching background that really pops when displayed with other brochures. To fit our cover, please ensure your photos are vertical (portrait) in orientation, or at least able to be cropped that way.
Official Rules
We’re excited to see your photos! Please submit them via email to tulipcover@gmail.com.
Capture the beauty of this year’s event: All entries should feature 2025 tulip blooms.
Don’t miss out! Entries will be accepted until June 1st, 2025.
Tell us a little about yourself: Please include your name, address, phone number, and the date and location of the photo.
Celebrate Holland’s charm: Photos must be taken in Holland, MI, whether on public or private property. Backyard photos are welcome!
Your moment could be our cover! The Holland Area Visitors Bureau will select the final cover image.
Join the fun: The top ten photos will be featured on the Discover Holland Facebook page for public voting in our People’s Choice Award.
Let your work shine: The Holland Area Visitors Bureau will retain the rights to all entries, including the winning photo and the top ten submissions, for future editorial and advertising purposes. We’ll always give you credit where it’s due!
Quality matters: Photos should be high-resolution (at least 300 dpi) and suitable for an 8.5" x 11" publication cover. Unfortunately, images that don’t meet this requirement won’t be eligible.
Keep it clean: Photos with a watermark will be disqualified.
Participation is open to all adults: You must be at least 18 years old to enter.
Share as much as you like: Feel free to submit more than one entry!
Keep it original: We ask that all photos be original works. To keep the spirit of the contest alive, please avoid using AI-generated or AI-enhanced content. We want to see your unique perspective!
Permission and Release: By submitting your photos, you’re giving us permission to showcase them in our future editorial and advertising efforts. We’re excited to share your talent with the world, and we’ll always credit you when appropriate.
Capture the moment and win big! The top photographer will walk away with a $500 cash prize and will be credited whenever the photo shines in our editorial features. But that’s not all! The top ten photos each earn $50, and the photo that wins the hearts of the people in our online vote will snag an additional $150. Good luck!
