One of the many trail parks surrounding Holland, Hemlock Crossing offers 239 acres of woods and wetlands along the Pigeon River. Over six miles of hiking and cross-country skiing trails meander through bottomland and upland forest, old pine plantations, and along the river. Trails also connect to Pine Bend on the west end of the property. A pediestrian bridege and numerous overlooks offer scenic views of the river corridor, wetland, natural springs and woods.. Facilities include a kayak/canoe launch, two picnic shelters, and over a mile of paved trail. Hemlock Crossing is also the site of the Nature Education Center that features a nature gift shop, exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the area, a Wildlife Den with live "critters" and loads of activities, a Wildlife Viewing Area that attracts birds and mammals to feeders, adn information on 6,000 acres of parks properties.
